Our Story

Born out of a love of science and inspired by a life of travel, Atom Beers was founded in 2014 by scientists Allan and Sarah. Our mission is to create a community built on collaboration, education, and a shared passion for beer and the brewing process.

With support from family and friends, we opened our first taproom in the heart of Hull's old town in 2018. We now have two unique bars and an expanding network of like-minded people, from beer enthusiasts and scientists to local independent businesses.

During the pandemic, we became a more self-sufficient business by acquiring our own canning line. This allows us to make, keg, cask, and can our beer with perfect timing.

The Atom Brewing Company is committed to mixed culture and spontaneous fermentation, incorporating local agriculture and natural surroundings in their beer-making process. They are also dedicated to old-world brewing methodologies, using custom open-top oak fermenters and hand-selected used barrels.

In 2015, Atom Beers transformed an 80-year-old building in Olde Town Erie, Colorado, into their barrel house. They designed the space to nurture and encourage the complexities they aim for in their beers, such as allowing wild microflora to flourish and nature to control most of the temperature.

Atom Beers offers a diverse range of beers, including hazy pales, IPAs, stouts, and gluten-free options. Their beers have gained recognition in various countries, including Belgium, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Australia.

In addition to their online shop, Atom Beers provides a monthly beer club subscription service. This service delivers a selection of fresh Atom beers, including new releases and collaborations, straight to customers' doors every month.

Our Story

Atom Beers was born out of a love of science and a passion for beer. Co-founded in 2014 by scientists Allan and Sarah, Atom Beers launched its first tap room in 2018 in the heart of Hull's old town.

Our Locations

We now have two unique tap rooms and an expanding community of beer enthusiasts, scientists, and local independent businesses.

The Corn Exchange, Hull

Our first tap room, located in the Corn Exchange, offered a welcoming atmosphere in a historic setting. In 2022, we moved to a new location in an old Yorkshire bank building in the bustling area of the Avenues in Hull.

Beverley

Our second tap room in historic Beverley is an upbeat bar with impressive period features.
