Country Boy Brewing history
Country Boy Brewing was founded on February 10, 2012, by four native Kentuckians: Daniel "DH" Harrison, Nate Coppage, Evan Coppage, and Jeff Beagle. The idea for the brewery was born in Japan when Harrison and Coppage, who were teaching English there, became interested in Japanese beer. They met Brian Baird, owner of Baird Beer, and became "infected" with a passion for craft beer. They decided to open a brewery back in Kentucky, with the long-term goal of opening by 2015.
After moving back home and developing a plan with Nate's brother Evan and fellow co-owner Jeff Beagle, they opened Country Boy on a shoestring budget. They started with a "glorified homebrew setup," with most of their equipment being used and sourced locally. A year later, with 504 barrels to their credit, they saw growth potential and began planning for expansion.
In February 2017, Country Boy Brewing expanded into a larger brew house in Georgetown, Kentucky. The new building features a 22,500 sq. ft. production brewery, a taproom, and offices, with a capacity of 1000 barrels of fermentation space. The Georgetown facility also allowed them to can their popular Cliff Jumper IPA and Halfway Home Pale Ale, along with several seasonal offerings.
