The beer is distributed by Anheuser-Busch, Molson Coors, and Pabst Blue Ribbon, among others, and can be found in most grocery and liquor stores in the Northwest region.
The beer is brewed by the Pabst Brewing Company, which acquired the brand in 1999. It combines pure spring waters with golden barley and hops to produce a rich taste and texture. The result is a slightly fruity, malty flavour complemented by Chinook, Mt. Hood, and Willamette hop notes.
In addition to its classic lager, Rainier has expanded its product line in recent years to include a Pale Mountain Ale, a light lager, and a line of hard seltzers in three flavours: Huckleberry, Apple, and Lemon. These seltzers have an ABV of 4.6% and contain no added sugar.

Rainier Beer history
The Rainier Brewing Company is an American-owned beer brand that was established in Seattle, Washington, in 1884. However, the Seattle site had been brewing beer since 1878, when A.B. Rabbeson opened Washington Brewery, Seattle's first commercial brewing company. Rabbeson renamed the brewery to Seattle Brewery in 1872, and launched Rainier beer in 1878, producing and distributing it for the next decade.
In 1883, John Kopp and Andrew Hemrich, a first-generation German from a long line of brewmasters, founded the Bay View Brewing Company in Seattle. Hemrich's father had previously operated a brewery in Alma, Wisconsin. In 1888, Rabbeson sold his brewery, along with the Rainier brand, to Hemrich. In 1893, the Seattle Brewing & Malting Company was formed by the merger of the Bay View brewery with two other breweries. Andrew Hemrich became president of the new company and remained so until his death in 1910.
The Hemrichs produced Rainier beer in Washington until 1916, when the state of Washington enacted prohibition laws, four years before the nationwide ban. During this time, they opened a brewery in San Francisco, where they brewed Rainier until 1920, when the 18th amendment was ratified. The company survived prohibition by producing non-alcoholic products.
Following the repeal of prohibition, the Bay View brewery was purchased by Fritz and Emil Sick, who repurchased the Rainier brand and resumed brewing Rainier in 1935. The brewery went through several name changes during this period, including Sicks' Seattle Brewing and Malting, and Sicks' Rainier Brewing Company. The Sicks also owned the Seattle Indians baseball team, which they renamed the Rainiers.
In the 1970s, Rainier ran a series of memorable television advertisements in the Pacific Northwest, conceived by Seattle designer Terry Heckler. These included the Running of the MFRs (Mountain Fresh Rainiers), a parody of the Running of the Bulls, and a motorcycle revving "Raiiiiiiiii-nieeeeeeeer-Beeeeeeeer" while driving along a mountain road.
In 1977, the Rainier brewery was sold to G. Heileman Brewing Company and, after passing through several hands, it was eventually bought by Pabst, which closed the original brewery in 1999. Rainier Beer is now brewed by Pabst in Irwindale, California.
