Cigar City Brewing is a brewery based in Tampa Bay, Florida. They have collaborated with Mikkeller, a brewery in Copenhagen, Denmark, to create an imperial sweet stout brewed with cherries and cacao nibs, which is then aged in bourbon barrels.

Mikkeller was founded by two homebrewers, one of whom is the world-famous gypsy-brewer Mikkel Borg Bjergsø. Mikkeller has several bars and restaurants in Copenhagen, including the original Mikkeller Bar in the heart of Vesterbro, which has taps from Mikkeller and other breweries, as well as cheese, snacks, meats, and a specialised bottled selection. Most of the taps are Mikkeller's own brew. In March 2013, Mikkeller and another Danish microbrewery, To Øl, opened a second Mikkeller bar in Copenhagen called Mikkeller & Friends. In 2017 the festival was renamed Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen (MBCC).
