Mad Fritz Tap House in Yountville

The Tap House is open four days a week, from Thursday to Sunday, 12 pm to 7 pm. You don't need a reservation, but seating is limited. There are eight to nine beers on draft and hand pump, as well as small pours of 4 oz, beer flights, and 10 oz glass pours. Mad Fritz Brewery is located in St Helena, in the heart of Napa Valley. The brewery is the brainchild of owners Nile Zacherle and Whitney Fisher, who are both deeply rooted in the local wine world. Fisher is the winemaker at her family's Fisher Vineyards, while Zacherle is the head winemaker at David Arthur.

Mad Fritz was established in 2012, and by 2014, they were malting and growing their own barley, drying locally-grown hops, and brewing their beer in an industrial park in St Helena. The brewery's name is derived from the names of Zacherle and Fisher's children, Madeline and Frederick.

Mad Fritz's beers are unique in that they are not just locally brewed but also locally grown. The brewery sources its ingredients from local farmers and maltsters, with an emphasis on using the freshest and highest-quality products available. The taproom offers a "hosted and experiential" visit, similar to a wine tasting, with beer flights to taste and vinyl music playing in the background.
