Our Story

Nimbus Brewing Company was established in the spring of 1996 in Tucson, Arizona. We started small, producing just 200 barrels in our first year. But as the craft beer industry picked up steam, we found a dedicated customer base in Tucson and throughout Arizona. In June 2000, James Counts joined Nimbus as a Managing Partner, and under his leadership, we underwent a significant expansion, including the installation of a top-of-the-line 35-barrel brewing system. Today, we are proud to be the largest brewery in Arizona, producing just over 22,000 barrels per year.

Our Beers

We have a variety of beers to suit different tastes and preferences. Our Nimbus Red Ale, a medium amber-colored brew with good clarity and a nice crop of foam, offers a prominent aroma of caramel, along with notes of toasty bread, nuttiness, and a hint of hazelnut. Our Old Monkeyshine Ale is a medium-bodied English Strong Ale with a distinct, dark roasted flavor and an ABV of 8.0%. We also have a Blonde Ale called Dirty Guera, which is smooth, refreshing, and balanced with an ABV of 3.5%. For stout lovers, we have the Nimbus Oatmeal Stout, a full-bodied beer with a dark roasted, almost burnt flavor and an ABV of 5.0%. Our American Pale Ale, hopped four times using Cascade and Columbus hops, has an ABV of 5.5%.
