St Peter's Brewery in Suffolk

St Peter's Brewery is an independent brewery founded in 1996 by John Murphy in former agricultural buildings adjacent to St Peter's Hall in St Peter, South Elmham, near Bungay in Suffolk. The location in the picturesque Suffolk countryside is ideal for the excellent water quality used in the brewing process. All beers brewed at St Peter's use water filtered through chalk deep beneath the brewery, obtained from their own deep borehole.

St Peter's is one of England's original craft breweries, producing cask ales and cold-filtered bottled beers. The most popular are Pale Ale, Cream Stout and 0.0% Without. The brewery produces around twelve regular beers and another six seasonal beers and is known for its organic beers. A gluten-free beer, G-Free, was launched in 2007 and is approved and licensed by Coeliac UK.

The oval shape of its signature 500ml bottle is based on an 18th-century gin bottle from Gibbstown, by the Delaware River near Philadelphia, but a round version is also common.

St Peter's Hall, alongside the brewery, is a historic venue with a bar and restaurant. It is available for functions, weddings, events, meetings and conferences and is open seven days a week.
