Troegs' Scratch Series

The Troegs Scratch Series is a range of draft-only beers released every Thursday in the Tasting Room at the Troegs brewery in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The series was launched in 2007 to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the brewery. The Scratch Series allows the brewers to "share [their] creative process by focusing on small-batch brews". Each batch is brewed on a custom small-batch brew house, with the brewers learning from each batch.

The Scratch Series has served as a springboard for potential seasonal and year-round releases, with favourites like Blizzard of Hops, LolliHop, and Field Study all starting life as small-batch Scratch beers. The Scratch Series expanded in 2011 when Troegs moved their operations from Harrisburg to Hershey, installing a 15-barrel Scratch brewhouse, a pilot system allowing them to brew much smaller batches of beer. In 2020, Troegs installed the Scratch Lab, a 3-barrel nano-brewery designed to replicate the temperature controls, pressure, and geometry of their 100-barrel production brewhouse.
