To promote the beer, Budweiser is partnering with Lyft to offer rides in vintage cars. On Wednesday, 25 October 2017, Lyft offered a 'Bud Vintage Mode' in Manhattan, New York, to celebrate the brewery's limited-edition 1933 Repeal Reserve lager. Budweiser brought a number of antique cars to the Lyft fleet, including a 1936 Riley Kestrel and a 1937 Packard Sedan. The cars were from the Prohibition era, which was the inspiration for the beer.
Lyft users could sign up for Bud Vintage Mode online to reveal it in their Lyft app. Requesting a ride through the mode on Wednesday, from 3 to 7 pm, gave the user the chance to get a 15-minute ride in one of the cars, but they had to sign a release and waiver in order to ride.
