3 Stars Brewing Company was a brewery based in Washington, DC, that began production in 2012. The company was founded by longtime friends Dave Coleman and Mike McGarvey, two homebrewers who wanted to bring locally handcrafted artisanal ales to the DC beer community. The name 3 Stars comes from the three stars on the DC flag, which in turn copies the Washington family coat of arms. The brewery was located in an industrial section of NW DC in Takoma, where they produced a wide range of creative beers.
